Just Ducky
Designed by UJAMAA BAGETTES
JUST DUCKY is a trio of small crossbody bags - APRIL, MAY and JUNE. This is a perfect little bag for toddlers and young children, and can also be made as a great minimalist bag for an adult by just changing the length of the strap. Depending upon fabric choices and the version you make, these are appealing to boys and girls equally. APRIL is especially suited to a “man”-bag. We hear it is just right for storing and carrying a game box controller. This trio is a great primer for the construction techniques of different bag styles.
The curvy flap, inside slip pocket, and back zippered pocket fit all three versions but three different body dimensions, orientation and shapes enable you to make there very different looks - a tall messenger, a square messenger, or a curvy saddle bag. Will you be able resist making all three?
Emmaline Bags sells BAGETTES patterns online, and all profits from these pattern sales go directly to the Grandmothers Campaign.
++ This is a PDF Pattern.
++ Instructions are in English only.

- Adjustable strap added to the back of the bags
- Easy to sew on a domestic machine
- Suited to new bag makers
PRINTING INFORMATION:
- To print, open in the most recently updated ADOBE READER or Adobe Acrobat. (If it is not updated, your pages may print black.)
- To print accurately, open in ADOBE from a computer, and when printing make sure that the “scaling” is set to “none” or “actual size” in the print properties.
- A 1” x 1” test square is provided.
- Print the templates and measure the square to check printing accuracy
Skill Level:
- This pattern is Beginner Friendly
Approx. Finished Size:
- APRIL - 4-1/2” wide at base x 7” tall x 2” deep
- APRIL is a taller-than-it-is-wide, messenger bag that features a folded pleat on the outside bottom corners. Because of the one-piece construction, APRIL will not suit a directional print but, because of the one-piece construction, is very quick to make. The lining is made from two pieces.
- MAY - 6” wide at base x 5-1/4” tall x 2” deep
- MAY is also a messenger bag but is just a wee bit wider than it is tall and has a “regular” boxed bottom. MAY might look smaller than APRIL but they hold about the same amount. It is because of the proportions that MAY looks more petite.
- JUNE - 7” wide at top x 6-1/6 tall x 2” deep
- JUNE is an oh-so-curvy saddle bag with darts to give that pleasing shape and perhaps the most feminine of the trio. JUNE may look smaller but has about the same inside space.
- All three bags have the same rounded flap that closes with a magnetic snap, a back zippered pocket, an inside slip pocket, and an adjustable shoulder or crossbody strap.
