The Juniper Clasp Wallet features eight card slots, a full-length bills pocket, and a small zippered pocket on the back for coins. Finished with a beautiful metal wallet clasp, the Juniper offers a secure closure and a polished, professional look. Measuring just 4½″ (11.3 cm) wide, it slips easily into a pocket or small bag. Included are instructions to add optional ‘RFID fabric’, which blocks credit card scanners!

The Juniper is suitable for confident beginners and experienced makers alike. Makers will be required to use a rotary cutter, gridded ruler/cutting mat, to cut fabric pieces from the cutting list. Paper templates are not required.

The construction method works well with faux leather, cork, or canvas on a domestic sewing machine. For the lining, durable fabrics such as lightweight water-resistant canvas or woven polyester with a polyurethane backing provide structure and wear resistance, allowing crisp card slots without the need for interfacing. Quilting cotton or other lightweight woven fabrics may also be used for the lining when paired with a light cotton interfacing.

Skills Required:

• Must be able to use your sewing machine without too much extra help, and must be able to use a rotary cutter, mat and gridded ruler. 

Tools Required:

• A rotary cutter and gridded rulers are provided in class, but you will need to provide your own rotary cutter. You must have your own sewing machine (or a rental), with a zipper foot, and basic sewing supplies.

PATTERN:

• Every student is required to have their own printed or PDF copy of the pattern.

DETAILS:

• You will receive a welcome email shortly after your purchase (by the next business day), when we will send you an email with helpful links to products & patterns, plus the requirements for the class. 
• Materials should be purchased before class. We can help you with your class supplies in the shop, just pay us a visit!
  

Guidelines:

• Sewers must bring or rent a sewing machine, and bring all materials, & equipment. 
• Cutting table, ironing station, coffee and tea will be available.
• Class is between 9:00 am & 4:00 pm, with a 30 minute lunch break at 12:00. You can leave for your lunch or bring a lunch to eat at your sewing table. We do have a microwave and utensils. You are welcome to sew on your own through the break if you choose to. 
• If we don't have our class minimum 2 weeks before class, the class will be cancelled and fees refunded.
  
• There are no refunds on classes, but if you let us know at least 14 days before the class, we can issue you a class credit if you can't make it. If you let us know you can't make it, we will see if we have someone on the waiting list that can buy your spot.
• Please note that the 10% off on orders discount does not apply to classes.

SEWING MACHINE RENTALS:

We have 8 x bernette 08 Straight Stitch sewing machines for rent during Sewcial Sewing days and classes. These are high speed, heavy duty mechanical machines, equipped with an extension table. They work wonderful for bag making, and although they are powerhouse machines, they are not "industrial", making them very easy to use. Just thread and stitch! (Note: They are only straight stitch machines. Brief threading and usage instructions will be provided if required.) 

Included with rental: 

• Extension Table 
• 1 x Standard Straight Stitch Foot
• 1 x Zipper Foot (Other feet available upon request)
  
• 2 x Bobbins
• Screwdriver 

Requirements:

Only to be used with a thread weight of Tex 45 or under. Use with Highspeed (HLx5) needles or any home sewing needle system (130/705 H), such as Schmetz needles. These are all sold in our shop.
