Store electronic chargers, art supplies, toiletries, projects, miscellaneous gear in one of these easy-to make, lined, zippered pouches. Each pouch has a convenient handle on one end for carry along and a handy pull tab on each end for easy zipper opening and closing. Make these cases with one or two fat quarters or full-width fabric depending upon size.

- A fail-proof technique for perfect mitred corners
- Tips for using zipper tape
- Enough detail for the beginning bag maker and creative scope for the more experienced
- Measurements for cutting. We recommend a cutting guide and rotary cutter
- Link to Rapidsizer for those who prefer pattern pieces
- Measurements for four sizes - BILLY BOB, ARTIE, JOHN and BUTCH
- Instructions for fabric handle and pull tabs or ribbon or webbing can be used
- Variations On a Theme at the end of the pattern with directions for optional one-piece construction and flat-fold snack pack options
- Directions for how to calculate cutting any size case - if you can measure it, you can make a custom case to hold it.
PRINTING INFORMATION:
- To print, open in the most recently updated ADOBE READER or Adobe Acrobat. (If it is not updated, your pages may print black.)
- To print accurately, open in ADOBE from a computer, and when printing make sure that the “scaling” is set to “none” or “actual size” in the print properties.
- A 1” x 1” test square is provided.
- Print the templates and measure the square to check printing accuracy

- 1 fat quarter quilting cotton or 2 fat eighths if you want to have a contrasting lining.
- For John:
- 2 fat quarters or 1/2 yard (50 cm x 110 cm)
- For Butch:
- 2/3 yard (60 cm x 110 cm), OR 2 fat quarters if using webbing for strap and pull tab
- Optional Accent Straps:
- 15 inches (38 cm) ribbon or webbing, at least 3/4“ wide (2 cm)
- Fusible Interfacing & Stabilizers: 20 “ (51 cm) wide fusible woven interfacing (Pellon Shape Flex SF101)

SLF works to address the consequences of the HIV/AIDS pandemic upon families and communities in sub-Saharan Africa. The G to G Campaign supports the voices and expertise of grandmothers in Africa, whose leadership is critical in reclaiming hope and rebuilding resilience across their communities. As part of Grandmothers to Grandmothers, UJAMAA GRANDMAS is committed to the Campaign’s three goals:
- to raise awareness
- to build solidarity and
- to mobilize funds for community-based organizations that support African grandmothers and the children in their care.

UJAMAA BAGETTES is a small sub-set of UJAMAA GRANDMAS, raising funds through the sale of pdf patterns and finished products. We have 3 weights of all purpose, woven, fusible, interfacing suitable for a range of weights of cotton, wool, faux leather, or knit fabric. These work very well to stiffen and add structure to exterior/interior bag outers & linings, pockets, or garments.
