The Mimosa Market tote is a very large bag that can be used as a market tote, a beach tote or a large everyday tote.
It has 2 large exterior side zipper pockets, a large oval base, an optional tab closure with instructions for a twist lock but can easily be substituted with a different closure. The vinyl accents could easily be replaced with fabric - the instructions will apply to both methods. The interior of the bag comes with 2 large slip pockets and an optional removable false bottom to give the bag extra support at the base.
MEASUREMENTS: 13.5" W x 13" W x 8" D
SUPPLIES:
Exterior fabric:
1 yard cotton fabric
1/4 yard vinyl
Lining fabric:
1.25 yard cotton fabric (1.5 yard if making false bottom)
Interfacing:
3 yards fusible woven interfacing
1 yard fusible fleece
1/2 yard Peltex (1 yard if making false bottom)
Notions and supplies:
(2) 9” zippers
(4) 1” rectangle rings
Optional:
(4) purse feet
For closure, either:
(1) twist lock for tab closure
OR
(1) 18mm magnetic snap
SEWING EXPERIENCE: This project is fairly easy if you have extensive experience with zippered pockets. It should be suitable for a confident beginner. The project will take about 4-5 hours to complete.
