Bag makers like making presents for friends and family. Instead of buying packaging or a box, how about making a box bag to present your gifts? There are two styles for you to choose from, the tie cord top, or grab handle.

Included in this pattern:
  • Includes full colour printed pattern instructions as well as printed pattern pieces.
  • Resealable bag/envelope to keep your paper pattern safe and sound!

Supplies: 
Due to the small size of this bag, I recommend quilting cotton as an ideal fabric. Canvas is also great and more experienced sewists may want to give cork or vinyl a try.  Whatever fabrics you decide to use, make sure they’re suitable for your sewing machine. For domestic machines, it’s usually best to stick with cotton, especially for your first bag.
  • Exterior fabric: 1/2 yd x 44" [50cm x 110cm]
  • Lining fabric: 1/2 yd x 44" [50cm x 110cm]
  • Double fold binding: 32” x 1/2" [81cm x 12mm]
  • Medium weight woven interfacing - enough for all cotton pieces
  • Stabilizer (Decovil Light or similar) 12” x 24" [30.5cm x 61cm]
  • Ultra firm stabiliser (Decovil Heavy, Peltex, or similar) 6” x 6" [16cm x 16cm]
  • Rope/Cord (for tie cord version) 40” x 1/4" [100cm x 6mm]
  • Eyelets (for tie cord version) 4 x 1/2” [12mm]
  • Leather handle (for grab handle version) 1 x 18” [46cm]
  • Rivets (for grab handle version) 4 x Medium [8mm post]
