BIG is a hefty, everyday tote and yes, he’s BIG—12” long x 8” wide and 10” deep (30.5 x 20.3 x 25.4 cm)—which makes this the perfect tote for a trip to the market, or the beach, or the park, or art class, or sewing retreat. Well, you get the idea.

BIG is suited to a variety of sturdy exterior fabrics such as upholstery fabric or canvas. The contrast base can be made with cordura, nylon, polyester, or vinyl if your machine is up to it.

The lining can be quilting-weight cotton or light-weight nylon or ripstop. If using a synthetic fabric interfacing is not required but if it ravels, stabilize the edges with a bit of heat or serge them.

Straps and handles are made from webbing - nylon, polyester, or cotton.
Right up front, there are lot of steps but none of this is difficult. There is also a LOT of basting. But trust us and just do it. You’ll be happy you did.

PRINTING INFORMATION:

• To print, open in the most recently updated ADOBE READER or Adobe Acrobat. (If it is not updated, your pages may print black.) 
• To print accurately, open in ADOBE from a computer, and when printing make sure that the “scaling” is set to “none” or “actual size” in the print properties.
• A 1” x 1” test square is provided.
• Print the templates and measure the square to check printing accuracy

• to mobilize funds for community-based organizations that support African grandmothers and the children in their care.
