NOTE: Due to waxing & differences in computer/device screens, shades will vary slightly and not be exactly as shown.
- Sold in 18"(45 cm) & 36"(91 cm) precuts x approx. 58-60"(148-152 cm) wide
- 10.10 oz dry weight, 13.5 oz finished weight
TexWax™ is a strong, durable cotton based fabric that is treated with generations-old formulations of various grades and qualities of waxes. These waxes impart flexibility at cold temperatures, water repellency, non-transferability, and a high melt point. TexWax™ is an authentic American heritage cloth, brought forward for todays rugged, sustainable and fashion-focused styles. Equally at ease in apparel, bags, hats and outdoor products, it is also widely used by equestrians for turnout blankets and dog lovers for rain wear, beds and vests.
Tips: THE CANVAS MAY COME FOLDED. Fabric will show lines and marks where folded and worn, and this creates the rustic and worn patina that is part of the character of waxed cotton. (Although you can remove most of the creases, the fold marks from being packaged can be more permanent. Our customers find they blend in with the rest of the marks and creases over time. While fold marks are not ideal, the benefits of receiving a small package outweigh the cost of large tube shipping for our customers.) Ironing is NOT recommended, but if you would like to remove the scrunches & marks, press with an iron, heat gun or blow dryer, but you MUST use a pressing cloth or parchment paper to protect your iron and ironing board. Avoid pressing the top of fabric if possible. If you want to remove lines, use something non-absorbent like a teflon sheet. Use our Applique Pressing sheets (Teflon) to remove lines!
Clean your machine after use by wiping the bed with a damp cloth.
Bright and deep colours are subject to crocking and bleeding and should not be mixed with white or light colours in the same garment.
Get TexWax™ Ointment Tins:
- Overtime the natural wax finish will fade. Tex Wax™ Refinishing Wax refreshes colour, strength & builds protection against the elements. Get the Ointment here.
Cleaning:
- Use a soft, damp cloth or brush to spot clean only as needed. Do not pre-wash. Never dry clean or use any detergent; instead saddle soap and a damp cloth for stains
